The 2006 North Carolina High School Wrestling Season Begins!!
The 2006 season promises to be another exciting one. Many returning state champions returning for their final year. Items of interest:
Chris Bullins' march to rewrite several NC High School wrestling records.
Watauga returns 3 state champions. It will be interesting to see how the develop without John Mark Bentley. My prediction is they will all repeat as State Champions.
Corey Mock and Nick Gregoris anchor a solid Chapel Hill team that will be a force to be reckoned with in 4A.
Dan Wills returns to NC High School Wrestling as head coach of Laney High School. Dan has had very solid teams in the past years as head coach of Hoggard HS. He has a young team that will get better each week.
Jake Pence leaves the warmth of the beaches of Wilmington, NC to take over as Head coach of Myers Park HS.
John Mark Bentley leaves Watauga HS to become head assistant wrestling coach of Appalachian St.

Coaches, parents, and fans, The information contained on this site is largely dependant on your input. It is difficult if not impossible to cover every event in this state. Feel free to send articles, pictures and video clips. I will see to it they get posted promptly. I really need help getting information from the western part of the state. There are some high quality wrestlers from schools such as Bandys and Watauga. I know there are others and I would like to receive information on them and their programs so everyone will have access to their accomplishments.
